Join us on Tuesday, October 27th, for an optional day of TAC Tours to visit four centres in Winnipeg and enjoy a networking lunch. Participants will take a shuttle bus to visit and learn more about the selected TACs.
Technology Access Centre for Aeropace & Manufacturing (TACAM)
The Technology Access Centre for Aerospace and Manufacturing (TACAM) provides cost-effective and practical solutions to support the aerospace and manufacturing industries through research and development, technical and business services, and training and knowledge dissemination. TACAM is one of Canada’s foremost technology access centres and has been serving the Manitoba region since 2012, with a mandate to support regional innovation
Building Envelope Technology Access Centre (BETAC)
The Building Efficiency Technology Access Centre (BETAC) supports the building industry by helping clients address the challenges of designing and constructing durable, energy-efficient building envelopes, components and assembly in an environment with extreme conditions. Their core purpose is to support the needs of those involved in the design, construction, renovation, commissioning and maintenance of a building’s envelope.
Prairie Research Kitchen (PRK)
The Research Kitchen provides a collaborative space to put the creativity and skills of RRC Polytech’s culinary instructors and students to work developing new food products or services to the market. Creative solutions to support food processors and food service providers through research and development, technical services and training. The Prairie Research Kitchen brings together a unique blend of food science and culinary arts to develop solutions for clients.
National Research Council of Canada (NRC)
The new National Research Council of Canada's (NRC) advanced manufacturing research facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been built to meet the needs of local industries, businesses and academic communities as well as to increase the NRC's research and development (R&D) capabilities in digital manufacturing and sustainable food packaging.
Designed and operated as a hub for the integration and demonstration of advanced technologies targeting the sustainability of various manufacturing sectors, the research facility specializes mainly in the development of technologies to support the Canadian manufacturing industry.
Please note that TAC Tours are optional and are limited to 60 people on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are $100 and are included in the ticket "TAC Tours & Full Conference"rate.
The Forum - October 28 and 29, 2026
The Forum is bringing together over 125 applied research leaders from Technology Access Centres (TACs), college centres for the transfer of technology and innovative social practices (CCTTs), as well as colleges and cégeps across Canada to network and exchange insights, foster the building of new connections and research partnerships, and help elevate applied research results across the nation.
Sessions will share best practices, candid advice and tangible takeaways to help participants advance their research operations. Presenters will engage attendees in group dialogue to explore a range of TAC practices and processes, and identify unique solutions to research challenges.
Participants will experience an interactive environment where they can learn and discuss keys to success in business operations, team management, developing proposals, and more.
